A Rapa Nui native slides down the 35-degree slopes of the volcano Maunga Pu'i for  Haka Pei - a competition where two banana tree stumps are tied together and used as a sled.  The competitor lies, back down on the sled and slide down a volcano mountainside. The competitors are judged by speed and by their ability to stay on the sled throughout the duration of the slide.
